Denis and Ann Savage manage their small vineyard on the western, Herefordshire slopes of the Malvern Hills. Unlike many local vineyards whose wine is made at Three Choirs, they make the wine themselves.

The Croft family has been in Leominster since the reign of William the Conqueror. The castle is now managed by the National Trust. The vineyard is more recent and is planted in a delightful walled garden.

This new Herefordshire vineyard is represented here by four well-made and beautifully-presented wines.

The wine-maker, director Martin Fowkes, is expert at bringing out the intense fruity flavours that are so much a characteristic of well-made English wines. The English House wines are made with a mixture of their own grapes and grapes from other vineyards in the area.
